CLEARFIELD - Fire officials evacuated the Clearfield County Courthouse Annex after smoke was coming from the roof Tuesday morning.
Fire crews were dispatched to the annex around 10:50 a.m. for reports of a structure fire.
Officials said an electrical panel of the air conditioning unit on the roof caught fire. Commissioner Tony Scotto said the fire spread into the ceiling of the county's domestic relations office on the third floor.
The fire burned a fiber optic internet cable, which will slow down tonight's primary election results.
Officials also said those results are usually updated every half-hour. The results will be updated tonight, but it is unsure how quick.
No injuries have been reported and workers were allowed back into the building around 11:30 a.m.
Clearfield County officials said the Domestic Relations Office on the third floor of the courthouse annex will be closed until Friday.
