Democrat newcomer Charles Cobb received 2,450 votes for an at-large council seat, easily defeating Independent candidate Glenn Coley, who got 929 votes.Meanwhile, Republican Mario Kranjac defeated Democratic challenger Joseph Favaro to succeed Mayor Joseph Parisi, who opted not to seek re-election after 10 years in the office.
Kranjac, who is the founder of Kranjac Tripodi & Partners LLP, received 800 votes. Favor got 681.
Two seats were won on the Englewood Cliffs Council by a relatively narrow margin: Republican Mark M. Park (747 votes) and Democrat Ellen Park (719) outpolled Carol McMorrow (714) and Democrat Carlo A. Zimatore (709).
Englewood Board of Education Elections
Four candidates were vying for three open seats. The winners were Henry J. Pruitt III, with 1,281 votes, and George C. Garrison III, with 1,165 votes.
They topped Molly Craig Berry (1,088 votes) and Howard L. Haughton (900).
Alpine Council
Michael Cacouris (110 votes) and Vicki Frankel (109) ran unopposed for two open Alpine Council seats.
Alpine Board of Education Elections
Richard Serko and Kathleen Martinelli each got 65 votes while running unopposed for two available Alpine Board of Education seats.
Englewood Cliffs Board of Education Elections
Three available Englewood Cliffs Board of Education seats went to George Drimones, with 485 votes, Shanna S. Jafri, with 435 and Edmond Duda, with 398 votes. Finishing out of the running was Gerard Misk, with 335 votes.
Tenafly
Independent Mayor Peter Rustin easily defeated a pair of challengers to retain his seat.
Rustin got 1,346 votes.
Republican Ronald D. Cutro received 715 votes and Democrat Nadia J. Lamastra 614.
Democrats Anthony Barzelatto (1,370 votes) and Shama Haider (1,207) took the two available council seats, topping Republicans Emanuel Savas and David B. Simpson, who had 963 and 967 votes, respectively.
Tenafly Board of Education
Four vied for three open seats on the Board of Education. Eileen Pleva received 1,194 votes, Stephanie Addison-Fontaine got 908. and Sherri Rothstein had 903 votes. Jasmine Elson finished out of the running with 808 votes.
