SEYMOUR, Conn. — Route 8 southbound was closed Thursday afternoon between Exits 22 and 20 in Shelton because of a two-vehicle accident, said the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
The crash was reported at 12:21 p.m.
A driver hit a DOT vehicle that was stationed to protect a crew that was fixing potholes on Route 8 south in Seymour, NBC Connecticut said.
Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash on Route 8 near Exit 13 in Shelton early Thursday, which also resulted in a long closure of the highway.
