Dana H. Glazer was prompted to check out the property for himself after attending the Dec. 9 Village Council meeting.

The video suggests that children who would be playing ball along Route 17 would be breathing in heavy fumes. Noise levels would also be a concern, not only for players but for referees, the video says.

"I can't fathom how anyone would want to have a ball field in this location. If the village council has not already done so, it is imperative that they visit this site to better understand the situation," Glazer said to Daily Voice.

"I can't imagine any parent who is going to want to sit there in the bleachers with exhaust in their lungs and unable to hear the game due to all the trucks blazing past directly behind them."

Ridgewood Mayor Paul Aronsohn it would "make sense" to do additional traffic and noise studies, and that no determination on how to utilize the property will be made until January or February.
